Maypole Dance

We had our Maypole Event on Wednesday. Such a lovely day! The children started by making their flower crowns to wear for the dancing,

and then the dancing started. It was beautiful!

After the dancing the strangest thing happened - we had snow!! The first snow Hannah has seen for two years and it's almost May!! There was wild excitement and all the children ran back outside to play in the snow!

Another great day at Rackham, we are so lucky to have found such a nice group for us.

Starting To Jump

This week Hannah had her first riding lesson to incorporate the early stages of jumping.

She was nervous, but really excited as well, and rode her favourite pony Tilly in the lesson which helped a lot! She is looking forward to her next lesson even more now.

Wednesday

It was a beautiful day for the final maypole practise before May Day. After the dancing Hannah played outside in the woods with her friends while most of the adults enjoyed the sun and chatted over picnic lunches.

Such a lovely day!

Rays of sunshine :-)

Schooly Things

Hannah has been working on science, geography and math this week.

She has reviewed multiplication and division but I forgot to take pictures.

She has worked through some of her science book learning about cells and the human heart,

and has completed two activities in her geography book.

Drama At Rackham

Hannah had a great day at Rackham yesterday. She joined the drama group there for the first time, and absolutely loved it. I even got to watch which was really nice. The drama teacher is so great with the children, and they all seemed to be having such a fun time.

They played games, learnt stage directions and acted out a story (which they first made up) in pictures.

Afterwards she played in the woods outside with her friends for two hours. It was warm and sunny and beautiful, and no one wanted to go home!

Art In The Garden

It's finally been dry enough to spend some time out of doors in the sunshine this week, so Dean and Hannah had an art session in the garden after riding on Tuesday.

Easter Break

It has been the Easter school holidays this week, so we have had a chance to catch up with friends as well as doing a couple of regular activities.

We have been to Pulborough to visit some friends and spent a really nice day catching up. Hannah and her friend visited the ponies, made dens, and played with their dog. I think the dog was worn out at the end!

We had friends come over to us earlier in the week and the girls played with the American girl dolls, they also spent a lot of time in the garden with our rabbit.

Hannah rode on Tuesday and then we went into Chichester for a visit to the shops. She has been collecting Beanie Boo plushies and wanted to get another one with her pocket money.

Whiskers the new Beanie Boo

Yesterday was the next Maypole dancing session and afterwards we stayed around to chat and Hannah and her friends compared Beanie Boo collections and explored the hill and woods outside the hall. It was a lovely day and we are really enjoying this new group.

Lastly, this afternoon we've had friends over from the Isle Of Wight. The girls have been outside in the rain pond dipping for tadpoles and making mini viewing ponds for them, and generally having a fun time.
