After the Japan event finished on Thursday, we went off to explore Arundel. Hannah had never been before, and loved the river walk and wetlands.

Awesome Japan Event

Our friends over at The Gallivanters organised a fantastic Japan Themed day for the local home education community yesterday. It was a huge success, everyone worked so hard and there were Nintendo displays and games, Pokemon display and card games, origami, manga drawing, Japanese foods and cosplay. It was great, Hannah had such a fun time. All her friends were there, and she learnt loads too!

Cosplay, Hannah is Pikachu from Pokemon and her friends are Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len who are Vocaloids ( I think??)

Mandala Art Workshop

Yesterday Hannah went to a mandala art workshop. She really enjoys art and has been interested in learning different styles, so this was perfect for her.

It was run by a really talented local artist, in a beautiful old building in the countryside - very inspiring!

It isn't finished yet, but is looking very nice already.

Another Goodbye!

Yesterday we had a woodland meet up and picnic to say goodbye to another home ed family (Journey Unique ) who are moving on. We are going to miss them, especially Hannah who is really good friends with their older daughter. She was so sad yesterday when we got home, but we have arranged to see each other over the summer, so that made things easier.

It was a lovely sunny day, still cold, but easier to believe that summer is coming when the sun is shining!

So, I think that is around 6 families of close friends that have moved so far, and although it doesn't get any easier at least technology allows us to keep in touch.  Hannah can skype, message and call her friends from wherever they all are, and hear all about their new adventures.

Bikes At Barnham

First trip to Barnham this year and it was cold, so cold! But lovely to see everyone and catch up after the winter.

There wasn't a lot of bike riding, more hanging out and chatting, but I think she did go around the field once!

It's Mothers Day today in the UK and I've had a really nice day. Hannah saved her pocket money and chose me some beautiful gifts and a card, and my lovely mum came over for the afternoon and stayed to dinner.

Hannah also made me two pictures which I absolutely love,

Mama Wala is her special name for me, wala means koala!!

We are wearing koala ears in this one !
 and my Mother's Day card,

How cute are the kangaroos??
Happy Mothers Day everyone x

Home School Classes At Titchfield

So, Hannah is still going to classes every Thursday, and she is enjoying them more and more as she progresses.

Biology is her favorite, with Math and English as close seconds.

It's an early start for a homeschooler, and there have been some really chilly mornings at the railway station - Hannah likes to warm up with a herbal tea (or two!).

She has been learning geometry in her math lessons,

she has covered DNA and genetics in biology.

and spellings and grammar in English

At home she has been doing extra math and working through her geography book which she really enjoys.
