Hannah had her birthday picnic at Portchester Castle this weekend. We were really lucky that the weather held (just) and it was pleasantly warm, and Hannah had a lovely time!

After the picnic Hannah and her friends Mia, Tarka and Willow really wanted to explore the castle moat. They had so much fun paddling, catching crabs and squelching around in the mud!

Happy birthday. I don't think I have ever seen a castle that still has a water moat around it. My kids would love playing in it. Will look into this castle just for the water moat experience
