Catching Up

Ooops, I have fallen really behind with blogging (waiting for a new laptop cable to arrive!), but luckily it's been a quiet week so you haven't missed much!
Here are some of the things we have done -

Hannah had a campfire camp out for her American Girl doll Lanie (pictures taken by Hannah - well done Hannah)!

We have had a real campfire cook out for Granddad's birthday! He turned 81 last month, and we had a belated barbecue this week to celebrate. It was a beautiful day!

My mum, dad, sister and Hannah all together - my sister's partner also came but managed to duck out of the picture!

 It is the Easter school holidays here, so we caught up with Hannah's friend Coral and the girls had a lovely time together.

These two have been friends for 9 years, their whole lives, and Coral such a lovely friend to Hannah.

Finally,  Hannah has been crafting this week. She made some pretty spring fairies from a craft set that her nanny gave her. They turned out really well!

Now we are all caught up :-)

A Crafty American Girl Doll Bed

Hannah has been wanting some AG doll furniture for her doll collection, but buying it from AG is proving tricky as it is a) pretty expensive in the store, and b) shipping and import charges are phenomenal! So, when we spied a doll bed kit in Ikea that was just the right size we had to get it ( and it was only £14, so Hannah could buy it with her saved pocket money).

Hannah chose pink for the main bed colour with blue accents.

She painted little blue flowers over the pink once it was dry and is going to paint the unfinished edges in blue as well. The dolls couldn't wait to try it out :-)

Over the weekend we also had some really lovely 'playing outside' weather - Hannah even ventured into shorts on Sunday!!

Spring Craft

A couple of weeks ago our home schooling group did a spring garden activity which Hannah missed as she was sick. The other mums very kindly saved her all the things she needed to make it at home so that's just what she did yesterday.

The garden was very simple and really pretty when it was finished. It is just a terracotta flowerpot saucer, a twig attached to the centre (Hannah used some air drying clay to attach it) and tissue paper blossoms. Hannah soaked little pieces of pink tissue paper in glue and then scrunched them onto the twig to make the flowers. Finally, add moss to the saucers and it's all done!

With the remaining moss and some of her pebble collection Hannah made a dolls garden in a tray for her doll Lanie. The blue tissue is a river!
Lanie seemed pleased with it,
and Hannah had lots of fun playing with her.
Hannah also took all these pictures herself to put on the blog!!
