Falconry Day at our Home Schooling Group

Once a month we go to a nature group for home schoolers. Hannah loves this group, it's her favourite place to go. Today at the group there was a Falconer. He brought 7 birds with him, including his Owl "Punk" , Hannah adores owls and has met this one a few times before at Beltain events. Today she was able to handle the owl which thrilled her. The children all had a turn at holding and catching the birds, and were given a very interesting talk by the Falconer. They were allowed to get up close to all the birds (an owl, falcon, hawk and peregrine) and the falconer answered endless questions from all 40 children (ages 4 - 16) who came along. It was a fascinating day.
