One of the mums at our home schooling group has started a monthly Science Club for the children, and last friday was the first session. For the first session the children learned about the science of bubbles.
They made different shaped bubble wands from pipe cleaners and garden wire to see if the bubbles were still round (they were!), found out why they were still round, and then did some bubble art by mixing paint and liquid soap in a dish, blowing through a straw to make lots of bubbles and then laying art paper over the bubbles to mae a bubble pattern.
Hannah made a heart shaped wand.
Which blew round bubbles!
And mixed green paint and soap,
blew a bubble mountain,
and made bubble art!
The session is going to be held monthly and the children will be following the British Science Association CREST Star Investigators scheme . Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun!
