Book Sharing Monday

Our book this week is The Beeman by Laurie Krebs and Valeria Cis.

This is a wonderful story in rhyme told by a little boy who's grandpa is the town beekeeper. The story tells you everything about bee keeping, from the clothes the beekeeper wears, to the jobs the bees do and the removal of the honey from the frames inside the hive.

'Here are the WORKERS, ten thousand or more,

who gather the NECTAR to bring back and store

in HONEYCOMB CELLS for the Beeman.'

At the end of the story there are 6 pages of information about the importance of bees,  bee keeping, and honey, finishing with a delicious recipe for Grandma's Apple and Honey Muffins.

A lovely book which has inspired Hannah to plant as many bee friendly flowers and plants as she can fit into our garden this year to help them to survive.

this looks like another beautiful book Hannah - you've shown us so many lovely choices over the weeks. Thank you!

I hope you don't get too much rain in your rain guage! and I hope you enjoyed your visit to the farm again; I love seeing all the pictures of the cute animals.

Well done to your Mum for having such a great declutter of the wardrobe too - I've set that as my challenge for February!
