Friday Nature Walk

On Friday our home-schooling group met at Hilsea Lines for an early summer nature walk.

It was a beautiful day!

Hannah was excited to be out exploring with her friend Melissa.

We walked along the waterway which cuts Portsmouth off from the mainland to make us an island, and had a picnic lunch  on the banks.

The children had a lovely time exploring the old ramparts !

Hannah and Melissa made it right to the very top!

Hannah said sliding down again was brilliant!!

The Hawthorn was in full bloom and looked beautiful! It is also known as May and is Hannah's birthday flower!

The water was so still and peaceful!

After our walk we went across to a playground for a rest (for the adults) and some play!
